Airbnb Literature Review
Welcome to the Airbnb research repository. With this page, we aim at providing a comprehensive and continuously growing online resource for scientific literature on Airbnb. A growing body of research from various domains is investigating Airbnb, acknowledging it to be the poster child and template for many start-ups, platforms, and business models in today's e-commerce landscape. We suggest that it was due time to take a step back and to assess the current state of affairs. This project hence aims to conflate and synthesize research on Airbnb.
A detailed description of this literature synthesis project is provided at Dann, D., Teubner, T., Weinhardt, C. (2019). Poster child and guinea pig—Insights from a structured literature review on Airbnb. International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management 31(1), pp. 427-473.
Of course, this snapshot can only serve as a first starting point. We encourage you to integrate your work here (and hence to increase its visibility and impact). To do so, please simply use this form. Also, please feel free to contact us directly by email in case you have questions or comments. Any feedback is highly appreciated! :)
The table below serves as a brief overview. A richer table is available, providing structured data on the summarized papers' foci, approaches, and outlets (CSV file).
