Course description

Our social and in particular professional life are increasingly governed by digital ties. In this context, establishing and maintaining trust between different platform actors is a key requirement. This course will cover interactive discussions and presentations of cutting-edge  topics in the field of platform trust research. As a result, the course’s participants will learn to independently read, summarize and discuss scientific papers written in English within a topic to be selected. The course’s objective is to convey broad insights into the field of online trust and reputation as well as practical skills for scientific writing and media-supported presentation.

Research topics will include, among other aspects, the following: online trust and reputation systems • trust in artificial intelligence • information (filter) bubbles •  human-computer interaction.
